Rico Williams, Principal

Mr. Williams brings more than ten years of experience in education and a deep commitment to serving students, families, and educators. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, his career reflects a strong foundation in instructional leadership and a passion for building school communities rooted in excellence and belonging.

Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has served in several leadership roles, including Assistant Principal at Madison Cross Roads Elementary School and, most recently, at Sparkman Middle School. His experience across both elementary and middle school settings uniquely positions him to lead Sparkman Intermediate School during its inaugural year and beyond.

Mr. Williams holds advanced degrees from Alabama A&M University and Samford University, preparing him to lead with both academic rigor and a student-centered focus.

For the past decade, Mr. Williams has been a dedicated presence in the Harvest and Toney communities, where he has built meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff. His connection to the Sparkman feeder pattern makes this new role especially meaningful.

As he steps into this historic position, Mr. Williams shared, “It is truly an honor to be selected as the first principal of Sparkman Intermediate School. I could not imagine serving anywhere else but within this feeder pattern. I am committed to creating a school environment where students and teachers are excited to come each day and where every member of our learning community feels a genuine sense of belonging.”

Mr. Williams looks forward to working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders to ensure success for all learners as Sparkman Intermediate School opens its doors.
