Ms. April Draine
With over two decades of experience in education, April Draine brings a passion for student achievement, instructional excellence, and relationship centered leadership to the role of assistant principal. Her professional background includes serving as a fifth and sixth grade teacher, ARI Reading Specialist, and Curriculum Specialist where she has consistently worked to improve student outcomes through collaboration, data-driven instruction, and positive school culture initiatives.
Mrs. Draine completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University and her master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Leadership from UAH.
As an educator and leader, Mrs. Draine values strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community. She believes meaningful relationships are the foundation of successful schools and is committed to fostering open communication, student safety, and a culture where all stakeholders feel valued and empowered.
Outside of education, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
